LA MASSANA

Nestled right between forests and mountains, La Massana is the ideal spot to enjoy nature in its purest state. Furthermore, hotels, restaurants, and services are all located just a few minutes from the ski slopes and the best routes for hiking or practicing infinity of open air sports.

La Massana is a great destination to share with family, friends, or your partner as it has an extremely varied offer.

What do we suggest?

In the winter there is a magnificent resort for skiing or snowboarding, Vallnord – Pal Arinsal. Or if you prefer, you can also try excursions on snow-shoes, go sledding, enjoy the jump (bungee trampoline) and cord park with smaller children, or contemplate the whiteness of the mountains with activities such as tethered rides in a hot-air balloon. You choose the experience you want to enjoy.

Once the snow has disappeared it is time to get the most out of the Comapedrosa Nature Park. If you are interested in learning all about alpine flora and fauna, a wide range of guided excursions are readily available. Don't miss the chance to climb Comapedrosa, the highest peak in the Principality of Andorra at 2,942 meters. The view from the top of this stone giant is absolutely breathtaking. There is also infinity of incredible beauty spots and even an alpine refuge offering lodging and a place to eat. We recommend first visiting the Comapedrosa Interpretation Centre in Arinsal where the friendly staff will help you plan your route and where you can see a fantastic audiovisual presentation of the park.

Apart from all this, there is also the large variety of activities that take place at the Vallnord – Pal Arinsal ski resort: MTB, off-road 4WD tours, mushing, children's parks... Vallnord – Pal Arinsal is the ideal place to enjoy a never-ending series of family adventures.

Another very important aspect is culture. Don't leave without visiting the Romanesque churches of Sant Cristòfol d’Anyòs and Sant Climent de Pal. This town also houses the Romanesque Interpretation Centre which offers a clear and highly educational explanation of the key aspects of the introduction of this style in Andorra. As far as museums go, the Casa Rull house-museum in Sispony gives visitors a taste of the lifestyle of a family of wealthy farmers during the nineteenth century. The most outstanding museum in La Massana is, however, Farga Rossell which gives an insight to the operation of what was one of the most important foundries in Andorra.

The gastronomic offer includes wildfowl, game, mushrooms, and vegetables. There are traditional restaurants all over the parish and the shops in La Massana sell everything from typical local sausages to the latest fashion trends.

Listen to the recommendations of the friendly staff in the La Massana Tourist Office; they will help you put together the perfect plan.
